The Bow Memorial School girls’ soccer team won its quarterfinal match against Nashua Catholic, 4-0. Goals were scored by Chloe Binder (two), Jocelyn Anderson, and Gabriella LaPerle. Journey Vanderveer gave strong support on defense.
The Hopkinton girls’ soccer team remained undefeated in the Tri-County League by winning its quarterfinal match over Wilton, 8-0. Loren Charron and Ashlee Brehio each scored two goals. Ellie Sintros, Brooke Carlson, Annie Higgenbotham and Abby Simpson added one each. Emily Fleegle had the shutout in goal.
The Merrimack Valley girls’ soccer team defeated Mountain View, 3-0. Hayley Kenney scored two goals (assisted by Rylee Boucher and Alyssa Woodman) and Rhiley Tanguay assisted on a goal by Kaylee Magoon. Trinity Place and Emily Koufos combined for the shutout in goal.
The Rundlett A volleyball team lost to Hollis in the quarterfinals 25-16, 25-8. The Dukes’ offense was led at the service line by Alexis Flynn and Jayden Johnson. Mikaela Harasko was strong defensively with several digs. Emma Ferguson, Elizabeth Blinn, Emma Nakuci and Lilly Equonis each contributed several kills.
The Capital Soccer Club U12 girls’ elite team defeatedthe Galway Rovers of Hingham, Mass. (3-1), Dover (7-0) and the Hampton Attack (5-1) over the weekend. CSC is now 10-1-1 and has scored 59 goals while allowing six.
The McDevitt Trucks Concord Capitals Mite 1 team defeated the New England Stars (10-1) and the West River Royals (10-0) over the weekend. Jaden Haas, Finan Murphy and Brayden Beauregard led the scoring. Nolan Walsh, Thomas Hanson, Tyler Mayo, Carter Doherty, Tad Stokes, Jackson Gfroerer and Patrick Owen contributed to the scoring as well. Michael Mounsey, Alex Mayo and Jamie Shatz anchored the defense.
The Brochu Nursery Squirt 1 team lost to Masconomet on Sunday, 7-3. Trevor Craigue (two goals) and Daniel Commerford scored for the Caps while Colby Nyhan and Gavin Nestler each had an assist. William Brochu had a strong defensive effort while Garrett Bishop posted 14 saves in net.
The Concord Capitals Squirt 2 team lost to Berlin Squirt 1, 5-3. Logan Daigle scored twice and Soren Puc had also scored. Matt Nason made several nice stops in net.
Concord Capital girls U10 team played four games this weekend. The Capitals lost to the Mass Spitfires twice by 2-1 scores. Goals for the Caps scored by Evey Heppler and Kacey Yorston. The Capitals also lost a pair of games to the Cape Code Storms, 2-1, and 4-1. Julz Kirrane and Camdyn Despres scored for Concord.
The Sanel Auto Parts Concord Capitals Peewee 2 team lost to Greater Lowell, 12-0 in the final game of the parity round for the Valley Hockey League.
Bow’s Josh LaCasse, a junior on the Southern New Hampshire University golf team, tied for fourth overall with a score of 153, helping the Penmen win the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship. LaCasse had the second best score on the team. Teammate Matt Paradis of Hooksett finished in a three-way tie for first, carding a 152.
Penacook’s Branden McCoo finished sixth overall and was the fifth fastest runner for the NHTI men’s cross country team at the YSCC Championship. Teammate Niall Kimball of Plaistow finished first, earning YSCC Runner of the Year honors.
Bow’s Brooke Marshall, a senior on the University of New England field hockey team, was named Commonwealth Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
The Concord Northeast Baseball & Softball Board of Directors will be holding a meeting on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Arnie’s on Loudon Rd. This meeting is to welcome new board members and vote on positions for next year. Meeting is open to the public.
