The Jonathan Lorentz Quartet will perform at the Hatbox Theatre in the Steeplegate Mall at 7:30 tonight.
Led by Jonathan Lorentz, a performer who has been playing saxophone for 30 years, the band will perform great jazz pieces.
Lorentz also performs with Soul Revival, 7oddSeven, Dueling Pianos of N.H. and two big band ensembles. He believes strongly in the interactive and collaborative “human element” of music making, and enthusiastically connects with other musicians and listeners.
Other members of the Quartet include Tom Robinson on piano and soprano saxophone, John Hunter on bass and Tim Gilmore on the drums. Robinson is a featured artist at Catamount Arts Center and Mountaintop Music Center. Hunter also performs with Seacoast Big Band and the Charlie Jennison group, and has accompanied Dizzy Gillespie, Slide Hampton, Clark Terry, and Jimmy Heath. Gilmore has played with Tiger Okoshi, Giacomo Gates and Tower of Power.
Tickets to the show are $16.50, or $13.50 for members, seniors and students.
