The Concord Capitals Peewee 1 team (above) won the White Mountain Shootout at Waterville Valley in decisive fashion. Heath Mann recorded five goals and six assists to lead the way for Concord in the tournament while goalie Kalan Gaudreaut added two shutouts on the way to the title. Other contributors to the championship run included Finn Benoit (3 assists), Trevor Brown (5 assists, 2 goals), Evan Crandlemire (1 goal, 3 assists), Nathanial Johnson (1 goal, 4 assists) and Joey Tarbell (4 goals, 1 assist).
The Concord Capitals 10U girls’ hockey team defeated the Lady Crusaders in Westboro, Mass. on Saturday, 3-0. Goals were scored by Abigail Colby, Erin Keville and Kacey Yorston. On Sunday, Concord returned home to blank the Massachusetts Spitfires, 1-0, on a goal from Ireland Frederickson.
The Concord Capitals Squirt 3 team notched their first win of the season over the weekend in a 7-0 victory over Wolfeboro Back Bay. Jackson Marston paced the offense with a hat trick while Gracen Arndt, William Raisty, Damon Corbett and Isaak Davis all added one goal apiece.
In an offensive show, the Brochu Nursery Squirt 1 team tied Lowell, 7-7. Chili Cabot and Rowan Arndt each finished with two goals apiece while Trevor Craigue, Jordan Dustin and Cam Plumb each had one.
Darian Davis rushed for 259 yards and accounted for six touchdowns for the Tilton School football team in a 49-39 victory over New Hampton School. Josh Jones added 143 yards on the ground and Sam Foley punched in a 1-yard TD. Tilton (8-0) will play the King School in a NEPSAC Bowl game at Moses Brown School on Saturday.
Jordan Dean (Gilford) of the Saint Michael’s College women’s volleyball team picked up 12 kills and nine digs in a 3-2 loss to The College of Saint Rose on Saturday.
Katrina Wiesner (Bow) had a hand in three runner-up showings for the Saint Michael’s College women’s swimming and diving team in a 129-94 win over Merrimack College. Wiesner placed second in the 50-meter free, the 100-meter free and the 200-meter free relay. In a meet against Clarkson University where Saint Michael’s won 146-86, Wiesner won the 100-meter free and the 400-meter medley relay.
Stephen Andersen (Concord) of the Saint Michael’s College men’s swimming and diving team helped the 400-meter free relay quartet of Ryan Butler, Seamus Butler and Pat Thornton finish 0.38 seconds behind third place in a 153-78 loss to Clarkson University.
