Visual artists are invited to apply for the Curious George Cottage residency with the Margret and H.A. Rey Center.
The program gives artists an opportunity to pursue and share their art and artistic process while surrounded by the inspiring landscape of the White Mountains. Through the program, the Rey Center will provide a space and platform for the artist to work, and create the spark that ignites him or her and the entire community to embrace the arts.
Margret and H.A. Rey, authors of the Curious George children’s book series and former summer residents of Waterville Valley, were artists and adventurers, historians and naturalists, gardeners and stewards.
Apply at thereycenter.org before April 3.
The New Hampshire Gay Men’s Chorus will hold open auditions Jan. 3, 10, and 17 at 6:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Manchester, 508 Union St.
All adult men (18 or older) who are gay, straight and gay-friendly or identify as male, are encouraged to try out. The group sings in four-part tenor and bass harmony.
Following the auditions from 7 to 9:30 p.m. will be a rehearsal for its spring concert. Subsequent rehearsal will also be on Tuesdays.
Auditions are private, quick and easy; you do not need to have music prepared. The ability to read music is helpful, but not necessary.
Members of the concert are asked to pay $50 in dues and have a tuxedo for concert performances.
