I would like to thank the Hopkinton community for assisting me with my community service project Sweaters for Shelters. Thanks to the generosity of the Hopkinton community, we collected over 430 items of warm clothing. Several hundred jackets, fleece, sweatshirts, sweaters, etc., were donated to the Open Hands Homeless Outreach Center, the McKenna House, the Rape and Domestic Violence Crisis Center, and the Friends of Forgotten Children. Hundreds of individuals and families will benefit from the clothing donations.
We witnessed the need of people at the shelters who truly appreciated the warm clothing. I look forward to doing the project again next year. Again, we thank the Hopkinton community for making Sweaters for Shelters a huge success.
