Make some music at the Portsmouth Music and Art Center’s Jazz Jam Saturdays.
Beginning this weekend, there will be open jam sessions at 11 a.m. at the center, 973 Islington St., Portsmouth.
Faculty from the Jazz Institute will be available for support and teach a new theme each week.
The PMAC Jazz Institute offers the widest range of jazz instruction available in New Hampshire outside of a collegiate experience. The program includes eight weekly jazz ensembles, jazz theory classes, guest artist workshops, jam sessions, concerts, and private instruction with many of the best jazz musicians in the region.
All instruments are welcome; teen and adult players of all levels may attend.
Sessions are free to PMAC students or $10 for others.
