Just to heighten the awareness of people who use the Stickney Avenue Park and Ride: On Friday, Jan. 6, I left my vehicle overnight in the lot on the southbound side of the Concord Trailways terminal. When it was retrieved the following day, it had sustained significant damage to the hood, which cost me $500 out of pocket and my insurance company another $800.
Unfortunately, according to DOT, the cameras that normally view and record that area were not in service during that time.
So unless someone comes forward (I realize this is a delusion-based fantasy) and takes responsibility for their act of vandalism and forks over a wad of cash, I am a victim of a malcontent’s mischief. The repair shop I brought the car to mentioned they have received vehicles that have sustained broken windows while parked in that same Park and Ride lot.
DOT’s Rideshare website does address their release of liability with the statement, “Please note that leaving a car overnight in a NH Park & Ride lot is at your own risk and that some lots are in more visible locations than others.”
Bottom line: Do not be under the false impression that your vehicle is safe while parked at a NH Park and Ride lot.
