After years of limited use of their community building, Hillsboro residents celebrated the completion of key improvements and renovations of the Governor John Butler Smith mansion with an open house. The building, which houses the Fuller Public Library, now includes an elevator, fire code upgrades and renovations on multiple floors. Saturday’s open house included tours of all four floors, refreshments, a live performance of music composed by Amy Beach, and historical re-enactors portraying Gov. Smith and his wife Emma Lavender Smith.
