Imagine arriving to a dinner party to find your host shot and your hostess nowhere in sight.
Well, now you don’t have to imagine because Franklin Footlight Theatre will tell you the story in four showings of Rumors this weekend at the Franklin Opera House.
The deputy mayor has been shot, but it’s not fatal. As he lies bleeding and his wife missing, his lawyer and the lawyer’s wife must concoct a story before the other party guests arrive.
As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
Shows will be today, Friday and Saturday at 7:20 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for students and seniors; they can be purchased online at franklinoperahouse.org. The show does contain adult humor and mature language.
