Cressy will work hard for you

I am a candidate for selectman of Hopkinton. I have lived in Hopkinton all my life, worked for the Hopkinton Highway Department, volunteered on the fire department and several committees.

I feel I can add to the decision-making process from experience.

We have a great town, but everything comes with a cost. We need to add to our tax base to relieve the residential taxpayers of this town.

Commercial and industrial business would not only add to the tax base, but also provide jobs. The employees would support our local restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores and shops. We have land that is suitable for this purpose, and with the proposed zoning changes, would be available for businesses.

I would work hard to promote these projects, and also try to initiate any cost saving ideas. I feel I have the common sense to be frugal, without cutting services.

Please go to the polls on Tuesday March 14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the high school to vote for your chosen town and school candidates. I would appreciate a vote for me.

I make no promises except I will work hard to maintain our present services at an affordable cost. I will also listen to any and all suggestions and concerns of our citizens.
