Youth basketball

The Concord Boys & Girls Club third- and fourth-grade basketball team bounced back in the third round of the playoffs with a 26-9 victory over Londonderry. Concord was led by Kayla Smith, Jillian Nailor and Lexi Farr.

Colby-Sawyer result

The Colby-Sawyer College baseball team moved to 5-4 after taking both games of a doubleheader on Thursday against MCLA in Florida. In Game 1, the Chargers won, 3-1, thanks to an insurance run in the sixth inning on a RBI triple from Brendan Thurber. The Chargers then won Game 2, 8-6. Senior Michael Fazio tossed six strong innings.

Spring tryouts

Hillsboro-Deering High School will be holding the following tryouts/practices for spring sports: Baseball on March 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium; track practice on March 20 at 3 p.m. in the cafรฉ and outside; softball on March 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the gym. All athletes trying out must have a physical already on file with the athletic trainer, or they must have a current physical for 2016-2017 ready to turn in to their coach.

Indoor soccer

Fieldhouse Sports in Bow is accepting youth andadult team and individual registrations for the next eight-week session of Indoor Soccer Leagues. Youth (ages 5-18) begin Apr. 15 and will play Saturday afternoons/evenings. Adults (men, women and adult coed, ages 19-60) begin Apr. 11 and play Monday-Thursday nights. Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Merrimack Valley Blue Storm girlsโ€™ lacrosse clinics are happening every Sunday at the Concord Sports Center. Grades preK-fifth are from 2:30-3:30 p.m and clinics for middle schoolers run from 7-8 p.m. Each sessions costs $15. Email kbstearns@icloud.com with any questions.

Concord High School spring sports tryouts will run from Monday-March 24. Team photos will be taken on April 5 outside CHS at 3 p.m, and Meet the Coaches Night will be later on that evening in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

UNH field hockey has announced two April clinics and tournament dates. The U14/U16 and U19 high school and club team clinic and tournament will be held April 9 and the U16/U19 team clinic and tournament is April 23. UNH womenโ€™s lacrosse summer camp will be held June 26-28. The camp is open to girls entering grades 6-12 in the 2017-18 academic year. There are commuter and overnight options, both of which include meals provided at UNH dining facilities. The overnight also includes housing in UNH dormitories. Cost is $375 for the commuter option and $450 for overnight campers. There is a group/team discount available for overnight campers. UNH womenโ€™s basketball camp is now accepting registrations for girls in grades 2-9 as of the fall of 2017. Session One will run June 26-30. Session Two will run from July 10-14. UNH field hockey summer camps are now accepting registrations for three 2017 camps: session I (June 28-July 1), session II (July 5-8) and a youth clinic (July 6-7). Session I and II are open to junior high and high school students (as of fall 2017). There are overnight ($475) and commuter ($375) options for both sessions. The youth clinic will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is open to ages 5-12. The cost is $35 per day or $60 for both days. UNH womenโ€™s soccer camps are now open for registration. The 2017 Junior Wildcat Girls Soccer Camp will be held from July 10-13. All female players in grades 1-5 (as of the 2017-18 academic year) are invited to register. Each day runs from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. This session costs $180. The 2017 UNH Girls Soccer Overnight Camp will be held from July 16-19. This session is open to all female player in grades 6-12 (as of the 2017-18 academic year). Events

John Stark Winter Sports Awards night for all athletes, parents and families will take place on Wednesday. The evening will start in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. for dessert and drinks before moving to the gym at 6 p.m. where all teams will be recognized and the Sportsmanship and Scholar-Athlete awards will be given. The evening will conclude with programs moving into individual classrooms for team specific recognition.

Culture of Sports conference hosted by NHTI Sports Management Club is on April 7 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The event will include keynote speaker Jamie Staton from WMUR, plus Monitor Sports Editor Tim Oโ€™Sullivan and others. The conference is for sports-minded professionals from every level including sports management majors, coaches, aspiring athletic directors and sports executives. For students who register before March 30, cost is $10 per person or $30 for a group of four. Register after April 1 for $15 per person or $40 for a group of four. Granite State Raiders Basketball is offering tryouts for its boys and girls teams on Saturday and Sunday. Boys and girls in grades 5-7 tryout from 8:30-9:30 a.m.; grades 8-9 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; and grades 10-11 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. All tryouts are at Bishop Brady High School. Sign-up fee is $30.

Concord American Softball will hold registration on Monday and Wednesday at the Concord Boys and Girls Club for the 2017 season from 5:30-7 p.m. Registration costs $95 per player.
