On a day when most high school games across the state were rained, the Bishop Brady baseball team traveled to Berlin and got in a 17-2, five-inning win against the Mountaineers (2-3).
Nick Grimbilas three hits, four RBI) delivered a two-out, two-run single in the first to give Brady (3-2) a quick lead. That lead ballooned to 10-0 when the Giants plated seven runs in the third inning.
Mariso Fusco earned the win, striking out five, walking one and giving up just one earned run in five innings of work. Offensively, Fusco helped himself with a triple and three runs scored.
“Long trip to Berlin, but I’m glad we made it worthwhile with a big win,” Brady Coach Skip Foy said. “Mario pitched great, we played solid defense and the bats came alive.”
