A Merrimack County grand jury has indicted a Franklin man at the center of a three-day manhunt that ended Dec. 31 when police surrounded a home in Concord and forced him out with tear gas.
Ryan Brouillard, 33, faces two counts each of felony reckless conduct and criminal threatening, as well as one count each of being a convicted felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and driving after being deemed a habitual offender of motor vehicle laws. He also faces four misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest.
Police say Brouillard was armed with a pistol when they descended on a home at 320 Prospect St.
He is accused of pointing a Glock pistol at Tilton police Officer Abraham Gilman and at Franklin police Sgt. Eric Drouin, who police say he fired in close proximity to before fleeing. No one was injured in the standoff, which ended when Brouillard jumped a white picket fence and escaped officers’ reach.
He was on the run until the early-morning hours of Dec. 31, when more than 20 police officers and two armored BearCat vehicles surrounded a house at 190 Manchester St. in Concord. Police had received information that Brouillard was at the residence and used tear gas to force him to surrender.
The arrest brought to an end a major law enforcement effort that included assistance from the FBI, as well as state and local police departments, including Alexandria, Boscawen, Bristol and Danbury.
Brouillard, who has an extensive criminal history, has been incarcerated since his arrest more than four months ago. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 17 in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.
