The newly reconstructed Kimball Pool will open for a celebration and sneak preview Thursday ahead of the citywide opening day for pools this weekend.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., city officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open the pool until 7:30 with free entry for Concord and Penacook residents with identification.

After Guyette Pool at Rolfe Park, Kimball Pool was the second in a series of renovations to public pools citywide. After the celebration Thursday, the Kimball Pool will close again until opening day.

Pools open for the season Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

There are seven public pools in Concord at Rolfe Park, Kimball Park, Garrison Park, Keach Park, Merrill Park, Rollins Park and White Park.
