A fun-filled day of meeting, greeting and eating

On behalf of Concord Grange 322, I would like to thank the following for making our annual “Meet, Greet and Eat” a big success. A thank you to my Grange members who came and helped set up, cooked the dessert items and cleaned up. Thank you to John Whartenby, who cooked and prepared the steamed hot dogs.

Many thanks to Hannaford’s Supermarket, Sam’s Club and Shaw’s Heights for their gift card donations. I had the pleasure and honor of presenting the following Excellence of Music Awards to Nevers’ Band members Joanne Martin, Steven Clarke and Tom Cusano. Many thanks to the East Side Town Crier and to the staff at The Insider for the great publicity.

Lastly, a big thank you to everyone who came to this event. The Grange has been a member of the Concord Plains, Concord Heights for 103 years and continue to grow strong with new members. There are so many people who think the city of Concord presents the annual Christmas Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, the Christmas Tree Lighting Celebratons, when in fact, it is the Grange who does the plannning, and organizing, and raising money to help fund these community projects that so many people look forward to. The next Grange event is the 66th annual Christmas Parade on Nov. 18. The Grange meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m., with additional meetings on the second Monday as needed. The meetings are held at International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Hall, 48 Airport Road. Please call Grange Master Dick Patten at 496-2917 for information.
