A soon-to-be second-grader at the Henniker Community School, Charlie Pierce, recently opted to have a birthday party where the guests were asked to bring a non-perishable food item that he would take to the Henniker Food Pantry, rather than bring a birthday gift for Charlie. “I decided I’d like to collect food for people in Henniker who may need it,” said Charlie, who also shopped for some of his own favorite non-perishable items to donate. Charlie was able to help stock the shelves with Henniker Food Pantry volunteer Denise Getts when he dropped off his birthday donation. Charlie is the son of Lyndsay and Chad Pierce.
