Youth hockey

The Smokeshow Barbeque Concord Capitals Squirt 2 team defeated the Rochester Squirt 2 team, 6-0. Gracen Arndt netted two goals for Concord, which also received scoring from Ian Miller, Claire Brown, Will McDevitt and Tyler Mayo.

Trevor Craigue and Rowan Arndt each netted two goals for the Concord Coach Lines Squirt 1 team in a 6-3 victory over the Cyclones. Fin Murphy and Colby Nyhan also scored for Concord. Goalie Garrettt Bishop picked up nine saves.

The Beauregard Equipment Concord Capitals 10U girlsโ€™ team blanked the Lady Flames, 1-0. Grace Turgeon netted the only goal in the first period.

Ace of Blades Mowing Concord Capitals Peewee 2 battled to a 4-4 tie with NE Edge. Evan Purtell (two), Chilton Cabot and Gavin Currier scored for Concord. Cabot and Gavin Nestler had assists. Concord also lost to the NH Junior Monarchs, 9-0.

The Concord Orthopaedics Concord Capitals girls U19 team posted two wins and a tie the weekend. Concord beat Manchester (8-0), Seacoast (3-2) and tied NS Wings (1-1). Jess Burwell, Sydney Fascetta, Colleen Donoghue and Morgan Sisson each scored two goals this weekend while Maddie Long and Abby Houle were strong in the net.

St. Paulโ€™s results

The St. Paulโ€™s School girlsโ€™ cross country team loss to Exeter, 20-39. Frances Margaret Gehrke (17:56) finished first overall, completing the race two minutes faster than the next competitor. Linda Pang (21:09), Rowan Macy (21:11), Kate Tapscott (21:35) and Annie Lee (21:36) rounded out the top finishers for St. Paulโ€™s.

Despite some strong finishes for a handful of St. Paulโ€™s School runners, the boysโ€™ cross county team fell to Exeter, 21-38. Ben Spiro led the team with a third-place finish in 17:34.

Olivia Chuang enjoyed a breakout performance for the St. Paulโ€™s School girlsโ€™ JV cross country team, notching a personal record in a 15-50 loss to Exeter. Kendra Kaericher (24:55), Rasika Iyer (24:59), Ellie La Voie (25:19) and Brianna Edgar (26:43) were the other top finishers for St. Paulโ€™s.

Sam Van Horn led the way for the St. Paulโ€™s School boysโ€™ JV cross country team in a 15-50 loss to Exeter. Van Horn placed eighth with a time of 19:02. Hunt Hobbs finished in 15th.

UNH results

The top-seeded University of New Hampshire womenโ€™s soccer team fell in the America East quarterfinals to No. 5 Stony Brook, 1-0. The Wildcats outshot the Seawolves, 11-3, in totals shots and had five shots on goal compared to Stony Brookโ€™s one, but that one strike in the 63rd minute was all the Seawolves needed. UNH ends the season with an 11-6-1 record

Sophomore forward Meghara McManus and senior defender Amy Schlagel eached scored goals in the third period to salvage a 2-2 tie for the womenโ€™s ice hockey team against Boston University. The Wildcats trailed 2-0 heading into the third period. UNH is 5-1-2.

Katie Audino recorded a goal and an assist to help the Wildcats rally past the No. 25 Maine field hockey team, 2-1. Audino, UNHโ€™s leading goal-scorer, netted her ninth tally of the season to tie the game, 1-1. Audino then set up the game-winner scored by Bloem van den Brekel. UNH ends the regular season 7-11 overall and 4-4 in America East. UNH is the third seed in the East Division for the playoffs and will face the West Division No. 2 seed California.

NEC result

The New England College menโ€™s soccer team advanced to the North Atlantic Conference semifinals with a 1-0 win over No. 4 Husson University on Sunday. NEC takes on No. 1 Castleton on Wednesday.

College standouts

Canterburyโ€™s Megan Bailey, a senior on the Plymouth State volleyball team, had 40 assists and 15 digs in a 3-1 win over Rhode Island College.

Loudonโ€™s Warren Bartlett and Penacookโ€™s Brendan Polichronopoulos and Dylan Guinard-Taylor competed for the Plymouth State menโ€™s cross country team at the Little East Conference championships. Bartlett, a junior, was the second-fastest Panther to cross the line and finished sixth overall. Bartlett covered the 8K course in 26:01. Polichronopoulos, a senior, and Guinard-Taylor, a junior, finished 41st and 47th, respectively. Polichronopoulos was the fifth Plymouth finisher and Guinard-Taylor was the sixth. Teammate Sam Brunnette won the individual title in 24:42.5. Plymouth finished fourth as a team.

Fall banquet

The Franklin High School Boosters Club will be sponsoring the Fall Sports Banquet on Nov. 7. The banquet will feature a potluck meal beginning at 6 p.m. in the high schoolโ€™s cafeteria. Football, soccer and field hockey players are responsible for supplying the main dishes and the volleyball team is in charge of desserts. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Indoor soccer leagues

FieldHouse Sports in Bow is accepting team and individual registrations for the next 12-week session of youth and adult indoor soccer leagues, which begin Saturday through Nov. 7. Boy, girl and coed youth leagues are for ages 4-18. Divisions for adults leagues are Women 25-plus, Men 18-plus, Men 30-plus and several coed divisions. All divisions are based on skill level. Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Seacoast United Cubs Baseball Club will be offering specialized skills classes for players in the Concord area. The 12-week classe will be offered from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesdays. It will include classes such as General Skill Development, Gap-to-Gap Hittersโ€™ Clinic, Strike-One Pitchersโ€™ Clinic and Caught Stealing Catchersโ€™ Clinic. Concord Parks & Recreation beginner to advanced archery lessons will be on Saturday afternoons for six-week sessions at the East Concord Community Center. The instructor is Dana White. Next session begins on Friday or Saturday. For more information, call 225-8690.

Second grade pre-season basketball league run by Concord High School basketball coaches Dave Chase and Tim LaTorra will lead volunteer coaches through skills and drills. The league will focus on fundamentals of basketball while also introducing team play. The program runs on Saturdays from this Saturday through Dec. 16.

FieldHouse Sports Indoor Sports Facility soccer skills and goalkeeping clinics will begin Nov. 6 and run for six weeks. Clinics will be directed by Jorge Pardo, Director of Caramba Soccer Camps. Clinics are for ages 6-60 for all abilities and meet on Monday afternoons. The cost is $55 for ages 6-8 and $65 for ages 9-adult. Bishop Brady and St. John Athletic Hall of Fame induction will be held on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Bishop Brady High School. The 2017 inductees include Neil Ackley (class of โ€™69), Robert Paveglio, (โ€™69), Joe Farrelly (โ€™73), John Hardiman (โ€™67), Chelsea Proulx (โ€™06), Scott Laliberte (โ€™85) and Coach Greg Roberts who will receive the Sixth Man Award.
