Tilton School runner Maddie Clark, of Hopkinton, won her third straight individual championship at the Lakes Region League Championship cross country race. Pat Guinee, also of Tilton School, won the individual championship for the boys. Holderness School won the team titles for both boys and girls.
FieldHouse Sports indoor soccer leagues are accepting team and individual registrations for the next 12-week session of youth and adult leagues, which begin Saturday through Nov. 7. Second grade pre-season basketball league run by Concord High School basketball coaches Dave Chase and Tim LaTorra will lead volunteer coaches through skills and drills. The league will focus on fundamentals of basketball while also introducing team play. The program runs on Saturdays through Dec. 16.
Cap City Basketball is hosting six clinics in November for players in kindergarten through 10th grade. Five of the clinics (Sunday, Nov. 10, Nov. 19, Nov. 24 and Nov. 26) will be held at the Concord Boys & Girls Club with K-5 going from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while grades 6-10 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Nov. 22 clinic will be held at Bishop Brady High School with K-5 going from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and grades 6-10 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Cost is $25 per clinic or $100 for all six, which includes a free Cap City headband. Franklin High School Boosters Club Fall Sports Banquet will be held on Tuesday. The banquet will feature a potluck meal beginning at 6 p.m. in the high school’s cafeteria. Football, soccer and field hockey players are responsible for supplying the main dishes and the volleyball team is in charge of desserts. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Bishop Brady and St. John Athletic Hall of Fame induction will be held on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Bishop Brady High School. The 2017 inductees include Neil Ackley (class of ’69), Robert Paveglio, (’69), Joe Farrelly (’73), John Hardiman (’67), Chelsea Proulx (’06), Scott Laliberte (’85) and Coach Greg Roberts who will receive the Sixth Man Award.
