University of New Hampshire senior Elinor Purrier won her second straight NCAA Regional cross country meet and has secured a spot in this years NCAA Championship meet, scheduled for Nov. 18 in Louisville, KY. On the men’s side, UNH finished 27th.
Sophomore forward Nicole Dunbar scored the lone goal for the UNH women’s ice hockey team as the Wildcats suffered a 7-1 loss against No. 4 Colgate at the Whittemore Center on Friday.
The Colby-Sawyer women’s swimming & diving team defeated Plymouth State, 122-116. With the result hanging in the balance heading into the night’s final race, Colby-Sawyer came away with first and second place in the 200 freestyle relay to win the meet.
Kyle Shapiro stopped 40 shots, but it wasn’t enough as the New England College men’s hockey team lost to Babson, 3-1.
Epsom’s Lexi Duclos, a sophomore midfielder on the NHTI women’s soccer team, was named an All-American Honorable Mention by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Boscawen’s Hannah Pellerin, also a sophomore on the NHTI team, earned All-Academic honors.
New England Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined is holding a “Ski Jumping Reunion” at Eastman in Grantham on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The reunion is for jumpers, friends and supporters of all ages. Longtime Proctor and Andover Outing Club Coach Tim Norris will recognized for his contributions to the sport. A silent auction will also be held. John Stark Fall Sports Awards Night for all athletes, parents and family will take place on Monday. The evening will start in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. for dessert before moving to the gym at 6:00 where all teams will be recognized and Sportsmanship and Scholar-Athlete awards will be presented. The evening will conclude by programs moving into individual classrooms for team specific recognition.

Cap City Basketball is hosting six clinics in November for players in kindergarten through 10th grade.
