My wife and I write to comment on the black and yellow “yard” signs that the Republicans have littered around Concord recently. We are extremely disappointed in the Republicans’ behavior, putting out such signs when it’s not even close to election season.

These signs were placed in public rights of way, disrespecting the general public, and furthermore, the Republican signs are a bald-faced lie about Sen. Dan Feltes, who does not support any kind of car tax whatsoever. Finally, if you’re going to launch a political attack on someone, why do it against Dan Feltes, who has done so much for our community, regardless of people’s party affiliation? Why would the Republican Party stoop so low as to tear down good, honest community leaders?

It appears the Republican Party is trying to do anything to distract from Gov. Chris Sununu’s failure on everything from jobs (more than 6,000 lost last year in New Hampshire), to the opioid epidemic (treatment providers are shutting down across the state), to child protection (failing to support critical child protection services has led to at least one recent tragedy). It’s time for the Republican Party to grow up and start focusing on the real issues, rather than sophomoric pranks around town!
