An Allenstown man is serving a 17- to 35-year state prison sentence for his role in three stabbings at a home on Edgewood Drive in September 2016.
Clinton Lennon, 37, was convicted of three counts of first-degree assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. As part of a plea deal, county prosecutors dismissed 10 other charges against Lennon, including one count of attempted murder.
Lennon, who was sentenced in December, received credit for 455 days served prior to the resolution of the criminal case. He is also eligible for a two-year reduction in his minimum sentence of 17 years if he demonstrates meaningful participation in the prison’s sex offender treatment program, according to court records.
Police arrested Lennon on Sept. 21, 2016, after he was found hiding under a bed in the Pinecrest Circle home where he lived.
That evening, police say, he broke into a home on Edgewood Drive while armed with two folding knives. Inside, he stabbed two victims, including his ex-girlfriend, in the chest and a third victim in the shoulder, according to court documents.
The three victims were treated at Concord Hospital for injuries deemed serious but not life-threatening.
Lennon fled the residence before police arrived, but he was quickly apprehended at his home, just a couple of streets away from the scene of the crime. Police said they found Lennon with a substance that looked like blood on his arm.
According to court documents, Lennon told police he had heard some things about his ex-girlfriend and freaked out.
At the time of his arrest, Lennon was serving three years probation on a felony conviction for endangering the welfare of a child. The January 2015 conviction stems from an incident in Dover in which Lennon was accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old child.
Lennon was previously convicted of obtaining or possessing a credit card without the cardholder’s consent in Las Vegas in 2001.
