JV results

The Concord High JV softball team (17-0) defeated Nashua North. Alice Rosenberg (5-for-5, triple, five runs, three RBI) got the win in the circle, throwing a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts, Alyssa Fallon (four hits, two triples, double, six RBI), Lillian Rienstra (two hits, double, five runs, two RBI), Sydney Plante (four hits, double, triple, three runs, RBI) and Evanthia Daukopulos (three hits, run, two steals, three RBI) led the offense.

The Concord JV baseball team (13-3) banged out 15 hits in a 14-4 mercy rule win over Nashua North. Cam Thompson (3-for-4, four RBI), Jaime Huffman (three hits, two RBI) and Will Shoemaker (two RBI) led the offense. Huffman and Kyle Hill pitched well on the mound.

The John Stark JV softball team fell to Pembroke, 9-7. Leading the Stark offense was Lauren Desrosiers (4-for-4, triple) and Gillian McGirr (two doubles, single). Tyler Descoteau pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts.

Luke Berube scored for the third game in a row and Dalton Gilbert played good defense in front of Dan Jenkins (six saves) but the Bow JV boysโ€™ lacrosse team fell to Derryfield.

The Hopkinton JV softball team beat Mascoma, 13-1. Abby Simpson recorded assists on seven of the first nine outs of the game. Julia Baer and Maddy Follansbee scored four runs each, and Kally Murdough pitched a complete game.

Middle school result

The Hopkinton baseball team picked up another come-from-behind win with a victory over Boynton. Brendan Elrick drove in four runs, while Peyton Marshall closed out the game on the mound, pitching the final four innings. Marshall also had an RBI double.

Youth baseball

In Concord Northeast AAA action, Sherwin Williams defeated the Bow River Dogs, 7-3. For Bow, Jake Reardon had two hits, Chase Crowell had six strikeouts on the mound and Charlie Garland scored a run. For Sherwin Williams, Alex Turant had six strikeouts in two innings. Josh Gurtner had three strikeouts in one inning and Cole Hatton had a bases-clearing single.

Hopkinton Yankee Equipment had a tough win against Hopkinton Olkonen Earthscapes. For Olkonen, Owen Bamford had two hits and made a nice catch in the outfield. Evan Gregory had two hits and scored twice. Yankee Equipmentโ€™s Devin Allen made a great play from second base and Jacques McCrillis made a nice catch on a pop fly.

Brineโ€™s Team Sales defeated the Bow Taylor Rental Blue Claws in Cal Ripken AAA action. For Bow Taylor Rental, Lochlan Brady pitched two innings and hit an RBI double. For Brineโ€™s, Nicholas David had a single and an RBI. Deagan Hines pitched four innings and scored three runs.

Youth softball

Concord Outdoor Sports Center defeated Dickโ€™s Sporting Goods thanks to a game-winning walkoff hit by Julihana Tonge. For Outdoor Sports Center, Rachel Gridley and Sophia Vargas had strong pitching, catching and batting performances. For Dickโ€™s Sporting Goods, Jess Caswell and Layla Mitchell had two hits apiece.

In Capital Area seniors softball, Concord Northeastโ€™s Rymes Propane & Oil rebounded against Henniker with a thrilling, 16-11, comeback victory. Grace MacDonald pitched three strong innings, Sarah Jenness was strong in the field and Cassie Pfitzenmayer broke the game open with a two-run single.

Suncookโ€™s South Main Service defeated MV Deck-Rite Builders. For South Main, Mikenzie Wheeler pitched a complete game. Nicole Cansler played well behind the plate and Madyson Bohaker had two hits. For MV, Marian Speers pitched well, Justyne Hoyt played well defensively and Morgan Burdick hit well.

In Capital Area Babe Ruth action, the Hopkinton Subway Hawks beat Hooksett Pizza Man, 9-8. The Hawks were led by three hits each from Kyanna Landry and Lexi Lawler, along with strong pitching from Kally Murdough. MV had solid pitching from Cam St. Germain, along with three runs from Marissa Rozzi and three hits from Madi Gibeault.

Golf results

The team of Randy Gustafson, Joe Fontaine, Annette Chagnon and Vickie Chase won Loudon Country Clubโ€™s Opening Mixer tournament. Chris Rallis, Mike Babineau, Karen Brickner and Alex Babineau finished second. Karen Landry, Denis Guy, Jeff Wells and Joe Dougherty came in third.

College standout

Contoocook native and Hopkinton High School graduate Nicholas Fleury, a sophomore on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute menโ€™s track and field team, will be competing at the NCAA Division III National Championship in the 4×400 relay this weekend in La Crosse, Wis. WPIโ€™s 4×400 relay team has clocked the best time in the event in New England D-III.

Soccer camps

CARAMBA Soccer Camps, run by USSF A licensed director Jorge Pardo, will be held for players in grades 1-8 throughout the summer. Field and goalie training locations and dates are: St. Paulโ€™s School in Concord (July 23-27), Carpenter Fields in Chichester (July 30-Aug. 3) and Center Point Fields in Concord (Aug. 6-9). Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Cap City Basketball Spring Skills & Drills clinics will be held every Tuesday through May 29. Clinics for boys and girls age 4 through fifth-grade beginners are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and advanced fifth-grade through ninth-grade players will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. All clinics will be held at the Concord Boys & Girls Club at 55 Bradley Street. Cost for all seven sessions $150 pre-paid online, or $160 at the door. Single-day sessions cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Concord Parks and Recreation field hockey introduction program is being offered for players ages 2-5. The Elementary School Skills program introduces players to the basic fundamentals needed to be successful in the game of field hockey. Classes progress from technical skill work to small game play. This program runs on Tuesdays through June 5 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The instructor is Caitlyn Smith of Seacoast United.

Concord Parks & Rec track & field camps for grades 1-7 will run June 18-22 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Memorial Field and will feature a variety of events. UNH menโ€™s basketball team Elite Camp will be on June 23 for players entering grades 9-12 next fall. The camp features personalized skill instruction, 5-v-5 game play, college admission and NCAA Eligibility Center informational sessions. NHTI Athletics Department Golf Series will be held at Beaver Meadow Golf Course on June 8. Cost is $450 for a team of four. Greens fees, cart and dinner are included. Host families needed

Winnipesaukee Muskrats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League are looking for local families to host players for the upcoming summer season. Players typically range from 19-22 years of age and will arrive the first week of June and leave the first week of August. Host families are asked to provide a spare room with a bed, access to shower and laundry facilities, and occasional meals for their player โ€“ typically breakfast. Transportation is not required. Host families are offered free season tickets for their entire household, three free weeks of baseball camp for their children, free admission to all other NECBL venues, and access to special events before and during the season. Concord Flyers Girls Track & Field program will be opening its 27th season on June 4. The program runs from June through early August and is for girls age 7-15. Peak FC, a new non-profit soccer and futsal club launching in June and based out of Pembroke and Concord, will play soccer and train at the NEAC complex in Pembroke and play futsal at the new Concord Community Center.
