Farmwork on a humid day might sound like a tough way to get your fruit fix, but for fresh fruit fans young and old, biting into a juicy berry as soon as it’s plucked is worth the effort.
That was the consensus at Rossview Farm in Concord on Wednesday, when people were working their way through the fields, filling up their baskets and maybe sneaking a sample along the way.
Rossview has multiple fields with different breeds of strawberry, which allows pickers to keep coming back at each breed’s peak ripeness throughout the season. It also had pick-your-own blueberries, set to be ready sometime around the weekend starting next Friday. The farm recommends prospective pickers check before showing up.
Rossview Farm is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. On the Fourth of July, Rossview will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
