The American Red Cross continues to ask for blood donations in the face of a blood shortage.

National blood banks are facing less than the five-day supply on hand that is needed to meet fluctuating demand.

The need is particularly great for for type O, which can be transfused into almost all people, but all donors are welcome. People who donate blood or platelets from July 30 through Aug. 30, will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card as a thank you.

Here is a list of upcoming blood donation sites in Greater Concord. An appointment can be scheduled by phone (800-733-2767) or via the RecCrossBlood.org website.
