ConcordTV Youth Video Camp Film Festival
What: Almost 70 ConcordTV youth campers have participated in the last year as writers, directors, actors and editors in creating more than 25 short videos that will premiere on Red River’s big screen. The festival will highlight videos with an awards presentation in more than 15 categories including “audience favorite.”

‘Master Harold … and the Boys’
What: A semi-autobiographical play by Athol Fugard set in 1950 South Africa during apartheid. The play shows how institutionalized racism, bigotry and hatred can become absorbed by those who live in a society that finds this behavior acceptable.
When: Matinee at 2 p.m. on Thursday, evenings at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m. There will be a pre-show symposium Thursday, a backstage tour Friday and a post-show talkback on Saturday.

Super Stellar Friday
What: Anne Jennison will share a few Abenaki storytelling traditions to place the stories in cultural context. After that, you will be taken on a spell-binding and entertaining journey through a series of traditional Native American stories that explain everything from “Sky Woman and The Earth on Turtle’s Back” to “How Bear Kept the Sun From Rising” to “How Hummingbird Put the Stars in the Sky,” and more. These stories reflect ancient Native American ideas about the relationship between earth, sky, the plant people, the animals and human beings.

Purely Wood Anniversary
What: To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Purely Wood Furniture will be hosting an arts-filled event Mezzo-soprano Janice Edwards will perform a Leonard Bernstein piece. Carl Beverly, a Warner songwriter, will share songs, as will acoustic duo Dan and Jeni Klardie and Susan Olson of the Great North Woods band. Vivian Beer of Pembroke, winner of “Ellen’s Design Challenge,” will speak and be joined by artist and furniture maker Jon Brooks of Manchester.

What: Authors will share “12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Season of Redemption.” In January 2015, rumors circulated that the New England Patriots ― a team long suspected of abiding by the “if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying” philosophy ― had used under-inflated footballs in their playoff victory against the Indianapolis Colts. As evidence began to build, however, a full-on NFL investigation was launched, exploding an unsubstantiated rumor into an intense scandal that would lead news coverage for weeks.
