St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host the London Temple Church Boys Choir on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. This concert will be a rare opportunity to enjoy the world-renowned voices of professionally trained choristers performing beautiful music from the English choral tradition, as well as music on St. Paul’s Austin organ. The New Hampshire High School Mock Trial Association, a nonprofit corporation, is comprised of a board of directors made up of coaches, attorneys, and a former high school mock trial participant. The NHHSMTA is the organization that organizes and conducts the state tournament in New Hampshire and also provides outreach to schools interested in forming a team or those interested in integrating mock trial into their curriculum. In addition Bishop Geurtin High School holds an invitational tournament in December. The NHHSMTA is also holding an all-day seminar on mock trial Oct. 13 at Souhegan High School. The seminar is conducted by board members of the NHHSMTA. The cost is $60 per student.
We are looking forward to you joining us for the 108th Sandwich Fair held annually on Columbus Day weekend in Center Sandwich N.H. The dates of the fair are Oct. 6, 7 and 8 with a midway sneak preview Friday night. This is a 3½ day event with something for everyone. We also have a few new events we are featuring on certain days. The Sandwich Fair offers something for everyone. From animal competitions, antique tractor pulls, a traditional farmers market, helicopter rides (weather permitting), a full midway and numerous buildings filled with crafts, flowers, vegetables, photos, baked good etc. Our stage shows featuring music and variety acts throughout the day are included with your general admission ticket. The Loving Bulb, the Franklin VNA & Hospice’s first fall remembrance event in the Teuscher – Wilson Hospice Garden is coming up Oct. 22 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at their 75 Chestnut St., Franklin. The garden features a beautiful south facing hill where Remembrance variety crocus bulbs will be planted in memory of those who have passed on. The Andover Historical Society, with a grant from N.H. Humanities, will sponsor a program presented by storyteller Jo Radner entitled “Wit and Wisdom: Humor in 19th Century New England.” The program will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11, at the Highland Lake Grange Hall, 7 Chase Hill Road.
