City crews installed a 35-foot Norway Spruce outside the State House on Wednesday. This year’s tree came from Blossom Hill Cemetery, the same place as last year’s tree.

In addition to the tree at the State House, a smaller tree will installed at Eagle Square. Other trees that remain firmly planted in the ground will be decorated on the Heights and in Penacook. While the State House tree is set up by the city, it is decorated by state employees.

Residents with a large fir tree easily accessible from the street are welcome to donate them to the city to be used as Christmas trees around the Concord. While it’s too late for this year, anyone who wants to donate a tree to be used next year can call General Services at 228-2737 or email generalservices@concordnh.gov.

“We’re always looking for a tree donation,” said Angelina Zulkic of the Concord General Services department. “Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten one in a couple years.”
