Concord Community Bridges donation

On Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., the parent/guardian of a developmentally disabled person served by our agency (Community Bridges) will be presenting a cash donation to be used to help meet the needs that are not covered by state funds of individuals we serve. This will be the third year that Tom Martell of Allenstown has presented the proceeds of the TJ Martell annual golf tournament and turkey shoot to Community Bridges. Past donations have been used to pay for needed dental work for clients as well as pest control. Dental work is a major expense for disabled adults as it is not covered by Medicaid.

Concord Holiday meal

The 10th annual Concord Holiday Dinner held at the Grappone Conference Center will be Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is no charge for this meal, and all are welcome. Not everybody is fortunate enough to enjoy this holiday with friends and family and that’s why Steve Duprey began hosting the Concord Community Holiday Dinner 10 years ago. The dinner has consistently brought in hundreds of people who don’t necessarily have anywhere else to go. The dinner is organized by the Courtyard by Marriott and Grappone Conference Center with assistance from more than 50 volunteers and donations from area businesses. This year, sponsors include Krebs Farm, Cisco, EcoLab, Coca-Cola , General Linen and Miles Smith Farm.

Gilford Candlelight Service

The first United Methodist Church of Gilford-Laconia would like to invite you to attend the Christmas Eve Candlelight service that will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this beautiful service. The Rev. Jim Shook will be having a children’s time as well as a special message for Christmas, and there will be sacred dance, a solo by Karen Jordan, the Wesley Choir, and the singing of carols. Please join us to honor the birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. The church is located at 18 Wesley Way (Off Route 11a near the 3/11 bypass). If you have any questions, please call the church at 524-3289.

Loudon Grant recipients

The room was filled with holiday spirit on Dec. 6 as New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu and Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig joined Speedway Children’s Charities New Hampshire Chapter at its 10th annual grant distribution ceremony at The Palace Theatre in Manchester. Grants were handed out to 55 local nonprofits totaling $75,190 in front of the festive backdrop from A Christmas Carol.
