A Laconia police recruit accused of telling his colleagues they should create a “suicide pact” and shoot up their academy graduation was recently indicted.
Noah Beaulieu, 24, of Concord faces two enhanced misdemeanor counts of criminal threatening, which carry the possibility of prison time. He remains out of jail on personal recognizance bail.
Police arrested Beaulieu in December after several recruits at the New Hampshire Police Standard and Training Facility in Concord reported he made threatening comments that prompted them to fear for their safety, State police Trooper Tamara Hester wrote in a sworn affidavit. Beaulieu told other trainees that a movie would be made about him “when he became a serial killer,” the affidavit says.
When recruits spoke up out of concern for their families, Beaulieu said his plan was to target only members of law enforcement, Hester wrote.
Defense attorney Mark Sisti previously said in court that Beaulieu did nothing criminal and had no intentions of causing physical harm.
Beaulieu was detained following his arrest Dec. 12 but released within a few days after passing a mental health evaluation. A judge agreed to Beaulieu’ s release on the condition that he check in with the county’s pretrial services program and wear a monitoring bracelet.
The Laconia Police Department hired Beaulieu in May. He was fired following his arrest.
A dispositional conference is scheduled for March 20 at 8:30 a.m.
