In coming to the defense of our current president, many cite the belief that those who oppose him do so because they’re angry and disappointed that he won the election. I think the issue is more complicated than that.

My dislike of this president is not simply based on party affiliation. I am a registered Democrat, but I vote for individual candidates and not along party lines. I don’t want my objections to this president to be dismissed as party politics, because they’re not.

I don’t dislike this president because he won the election. I dislike him because of what he has done in his personal life: cheated workers in his business ventures; discriminated against minorities in his rental properties; scammed students wanting an education; used donated charity money for personal expenses; bragged about sexually assaulting women; called for the execution of innocent teenagers; promoted lies against a sitting president.

I dislike him because of his policies as president: uses lies, not truth, to establish policies; bans religious groups from entering the United States; promotes racism and fear against “others”; befriends dictators and tyrants; finds fault with allies and truth with enemies; cages children and their families; takes children from their parents as a matter of immigration policy; insults the existence of all peoples except those who are white from Northern Europe.

We have had good and bad presidents in the past. I think history will put this president among the bad.
