Heat or food? No one should have to choose. An exceptionally cold winter is upon us, and “heat ain’t cheap.” A dollar will buy two meals via our food bank.
Our New Hampshire Food Bank is quite progressive. There are mobile food pantries for rural areas like Colebrook and Lancaster. Families can choose from produce, such as potatoes, cabbages, apples, eggs and more. Just one truckload is enough to feed about 200 families (fresh, not just canned, food).
Also, cooking matters. Through this program, low-income families learn how to choose delicious and low-cost ingredients, how to stretch them across meals, and use healthy cooking techniques and recipes that help them provide their loved ones with the best possible nourishment.
Last year, 11,556,057 meals were served and 13 million pounds of food distributed. Go, team, go!
