Keep your eyes and ears open this Thursday for the Payson Center for Cancer Care’s 17th annual Rock ‘N Race.

The event is a huge fundraiser for the Concord Hospital cancer wing and a popular event for spectators thanks to the presence of live music throughout the 5K course. According to the hospital’s website, this year’s event had raised about $75,000 by Tuesday and will include over 200 teams.

The event will shut down variety of streets: Park Street between North Main and North State streets (westbound) and Capitol Street between North Main and North State streets (eastbound) will be closed from noon to 8:30 p.m.

North State Street at Capitol Street (northbound) and at Centre Street (southbound) will be closed from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Green Street between Centre and School streets will be closed from 6 to 8 p.m.

Warren Street between Green and North State streets will be closed from 4 to 7 p.m., or until the last walker passes.

Registration at the State House will take place from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The race starts at 6 p.m.
