If your “to be read” pile of books is starting to look like a manageable feat, it might benefit you to head to the Northern New England Bookfair on Sunday to stock up on some new material.
The book fair, formerly known as the Granite State Book, Paper and Ephemera Fair, will be held at Everett Arena, 15 Loudon Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizer Richard Mori said there are expected to be about 40 to 45 booksellers at the fair. The fair will host sellers with a mix of antiquarian, collectible and used books. Mori said that many of the sellers have moved from having a physical storefront to an online-only presence, so this is a chance to check things out in person.
At his own booth, Mori is planning a tribute to the late poet Donald Hall, including some memorabilia he acquired recently at Hall’s estate auction.
Rebecca Rule, a New Hampshire author and humorist, is also scheduled to be in attendance.
Admission is $5. Envelopes will be handed out to each visitor, Mori said, for a chance to win a Golden Ticket (a la Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), which gives the recipient a $100 gift credit to the fair. There will also be four silver tickets worth $25. Those that sign up for the email list are eligible for a second envelope.
