On Tuesday, June 4, I will be voting for Meredith Hatfield in the Concord special election for the Ward 4 city council seat. I urge my Concord Ward 4 neighbors to join me.

When I first met Meredith, she was working hard as a public servant establishing and implementing a statewide energy plan focused on clean energy, energy efficiency and a modernized electric system. In her role directing the then Office of Energy and Planning, Meredith was widely recognized as a strong leader moving our state forward on issues of energy and the environment.

Concord will be lucky to benefit from Meredith’s continuing leadership at the local level on issues such as maintaining and improving Concord’s quality of life, implementing our clean energy goals, and increasing access to open space and transportation options.

As a young professional who cares about Concord and cares about public service, I am excited and proud for the opportunity to vote for Meredith. She is passionate and intelligent. She is both a realist, knowing first-hand what it takes to forge compromises across diverse interests, and an idealist, aspiring to achieve meaningful progress for her community.

It feels like all too rare a thing to get the chance to vote for a political candidate who is a true role model we can look up to. But Meredith is just that. Please join me in voting for Meredith Hatfield on June 4.
