Youth baseball

Brandon Warren pitched five innings and struck out 12 batters as Granite State Glass beat Concord Orthopedics, 11-8. Jacob Plodzik had a home run, and Dylan Curdie and Ajay Landry each had two hits for Granite State. Joshua Perron led Concord Ortho with four hits.

Youth lacrosse

The Concord Crush U8 boys finished the regular season with an 18-12 victory over Abenaki. Jack Snow, Will McGee and Daniel Sheehan played strong defense. Corbin Scott scored a game-high five goals. Hayden Edinger (four goals), Garrett Courchaine (three goals), Reece Mousey (three goals), Elliot Connell, Blake Campbell and Terry Cain also scored for Concord. Oliver Mullins and Cam Nelson contributed strong play at attack.

Tryouts/Registrations

Weare Post 65 Senior and Junior Legion baseball will hold tryouts on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at John Stark Regional High School in Weare. The summer season runs mid-June to the end of July. Juniors could slide into the first week of August. There are team fees, but they will be minimal. Senior program (19U) schools include Goffstown, John Stark and Hillsboro-Deering. If you attend a private school in and live in one of these districts, you are also eligible. Senior team home games are played at St. Anselm College and and the senior team will participate in two showcase events. The junior program (17U) area to pull from and includes John Stark, Goffstown, Hillsboro-Deering, Hopkinton, Pembroke, Concord, Merrimack Valley, Bishop Brady and Concord Christian. Concord Crew Summer Learn to Row registration is open. The program provides the perfect opportunity to try out a new sport and make new friends. No previous experience is needed and it isnโ€™t physically intense. The bulk of each day will be learning the basics of rowing and teamwork while out on the Merrimack River with coaches. GPS CAFC will introduce a U8 (2012) EDP program and the Junior Premier program for U9-U12s (2011-2008) for the 2019-20 season. The tryouts for both boys and girls will be Wednesday and Friday at the Centerpoint Church Soccer Fields, 139 Clinton St. The 2012-2010 players will go from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the 2009-2008 players from 6:45-8 p.m. GPS CAFC will also hold tryouts for its U13-U16 girls teams. New England Wolves U16 full-season hockey team, coached by former NCAA hockey player Greg Lenti, will include 2-3 practices on ice per week, skill sessions all fall with the Wolves EHL Jr. coaches and director of player development Tim Kunes, competition in the NEPHL and United Tier 1 League, use of Wolves video room and JR Facilities, two workouts a week (minimum) and use of synthetic ice at Wolves training center (465 Province Rd. in Laconia). NHTI athletic department third annual golf tournament will be at Beaver Meadow on June 14. Cost for a foursome is $500 and includes greens fees, cart and dinner. The tournament is scheduled to be a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a silent auction, raffle, closest to the pin, longest drive and many other chances to win prizes. There will also be a second golf event, a nine-hole shotgun start tournament at Loudon Country Club on Aug. 20. Cost is $225 per foursome or $65 per person. University of New Hampshire field hockey team will be holding two summer camps. Session 1 of the summer camp will be June 30-July 3 and Session 2 will be July 25-28. The summer camp sessions are open to junior high and high school students as of fall 2019. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Each session includes four days of field hockey instruction and a full evening program. The overnight option includes three meals daily and housing in a UNH residence hall. Pass Set Crush volleyball camp is available for girls entering grades 7-9 in the fall of 2019. This is an overnight adventure camp with a concentration in volleyball. The camp is located at Geneva Point Center on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough. The two sessions are July 7-11 and July 14-18. Plymouth State University womenโ€™s volleyball coach Joan Forge directs the camp and the staff features several New Hampshire volleyball coaches and outstanding high school and college players from around the country.
