■We end the month of films on Wednesday with A Simple Favor, which Forbes calls “a delicious adult thriller.” The movie revolves around Stephanie, (Anna Kendrick) a mommy blogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. The movie starts at 1:30 p.m. at the library.

■Planning Board will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at town offices.

■Budget Committee will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at town offices.

■“A Matter of Balance” is an eight-week fall prevention program that gives older adults the self-confidence to reduce their fear of falling and improve their activity levels. The program will be held on Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 9 through Nov. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Epsom Public Library. This program is offered at no charge; however, registration is required. ■Pittsfield Historical Society 2020 Calendars for sale. This year’s theme is Transportation in Pittsfield. The methods of transportation evolved over time and the calendar has many examples: wagons, trains, bicycles, early cars, motorcycles, and busses. There is also a unique picture of an airplane, piloted by Harry N. Atwood, that landed beside Dr. Frank Sargent’s rehabilitation center at 22 Catamount Road. As with all the Historical Society’s calendars, there is a brief history explaining each picture! Cost is still $10 per calendar and is available at Pittsfield Historical Society and Pittsfield Town Hall.
