To honor the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attack, two pillars of light will be sent up into the sky from the summit of Mount Washington this week, echoing the Twin Towers of New York.
The memorial sponsored by the Honor Summit should be visible throughout much of New Hampshire and adjoining states. It is slated to run from Wednesday through Saturday, with the pillars of light extending several miles above the Northeast’s highest peak.
Shining two beams of light upward to resemble the World Trade Center has been used many times in New York and elsewhere to mark 9/11 anniversaries.
