To the citizens of Ward 3, Franklin: Kathy Rago possesses attributes that we seldom see in local politics.
Kathy and family have been Franklin residents for 20 years. She is a former state representative and has previously served on the city’s zoning board, the school board and currently on the planning board. She is also chair of the finance committee. Kathy has an accounting degree from Texas A&M University and is a licensed CPA.
Since being appointed to the city council, Kathy has used her background for the betterment of our community while providing transparency for taxpayers. She has worked tirelessly with the city manager, finance director and the SAU 18 finance director to gain a better understanding of the financial needs of our schools and municipality. She racked up countless hours compiling data and creating meaningful spreadsheets that could be understood by the average layman. She then used that information to make sound, data-based recommendations in reducing costs to save taxpayer dollars.
As a parent of a child with special needs, she is proactive in helping parents navigate the special education processes.
I admire her concern for others, her get-it-done attitude and her eagerness to hear others’ viewpoints.
Please join me in supporting Kathy Rago as she seeks another term on the Franklin City Council. Voting is Oct. 1 at the Franklin Middle School from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
