■An “Art Salon at the Hub” will be held Saturday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Andover Community Hub, the first in what is hoped will be a monthly opportunity for beginning and professional artists to share their work with one another for feedback and support. The gathering, organized by Andover artist Molly Leith, is intended to foster community, creativity and connections; participants are asked to bring something they’re working on to the gathering. ■Don’t miss the last supper, until spring, that is, at the Boscawen Congregational Church. The all-time favorite Ham and Beans are on the menu with lots of sides and homemade desserts. ■Church in the Woods: Kairos Earth is celebrating the fifth birthday of Church in the Woods, at 92 Foster Road, today, with a 9 a.m. morning service, followed by Blessing of the Pies, and potluck lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The new meeting house will be open for viewing, and an afternoon trail walk will take place from before the last service at 3 p.m. Kairos Earth will provide pies, hot tea, coffee and cider, attendees invited to bring other dishes, and their own utensils and plates/mugs. ■As of October 1, the Selectmen’s office Will now be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The office will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch daily. The Selectmen’s office will no longer be open on Mondays or the fourth Tuesday Evening of the month. The Selectmen meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at Academy hall. These meetings are an important part of small town governing, the public is welcomed and encouraged to attend these meetings.

■This is opening week for The Salisbury Woods Haunted Barn and Trail to benefit the Salisbury Elementary PTG and the MVMS PTO is open on Saturdays and one Friday the dates are October : 12,19,25,26 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night, the cost is $8 per person cash only please . There are few new additions to the woods/ trail this season also which are fantastic in my opinion as I have seen them . Please come and bring your family and friends, it is a spook-tacular time all for a good cause. Walking through the haunt takes about 20 to 25 minutes and is not for the faint of heart as it is rated one New Hampshire’s top five haunted attractions ! It is advised for children only if they like scary things, so maybe leave the little ones at home as it is not advised for children under 9 . Of course this is up to you they never turn away a child who loves to be scared. ■A big thank you to all the Pillsbury Lake Village District water customers who submitted their Survey to RCAP. Seventy-five percent have responded. If you have not completed your survey or if you know a neighbor or friend who has not, we would ask you to please complete and submit your survey and encourage your neighbor or friend to also mail theirs. It is very important to submit these surveys as the results will help us qualify for possible grants / loans to help make the need improvements on the water system. If you are one of the residents of Pillsbury Lake who is on the water system, there is a new venue for you on Facebook. When you sign in to your Facebook account, search for Pillsbury Lake Village District in the search box at the top of the page. This group will be dedicated to issues regarding the water system. The group is open to everyone who is interested.
■The chili potluck at the Pillsbury Lake Clubhouse has been changed to October 19 at 7 p.m.
■Webster Free Public Library is showing The Addams Family in the meeting hall next to the library on Friday at 7 p.m. Join us for a free, fun movie–and free refreshments. The first ten people to get here can sit in the comfy seats!
