New Hampshire has produced a two-sided card to help drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing quickly notify law enforcement and other emergency responders of their condition.

The governor’s office noted that the card, whose use is optional, can help drivers who don’t speak English communicate in an emergency situation.

It is designed to be attached to a vehicle’s sun visor.

They are also distributed across the state for use by first responders, educators, local officials and hospitals.

They can be picked up at locations providing services to hard of hearing individuals, including government offices, audiologists’ offices; hearing care dealers; and law enforcement agencies.

They can be downloaded by clicking on the link at www.education.nh.gov/career/vocational/deaf_hh.htm.
