Is Elizabeth Warren running for president or auditioning for a position as Santa Claus at Macy’s? Warren promises cotton candy and a soft pillow for those naïve enough to support her.
Warren’s Medicare for All plan touts funding through a wealth tax with no middle-class tax increase. Her plan would shutter the insurance industry and provider administrative departments, conservatively driving nearly 2 million people out of work. That would negate the total job gains in 2017 alone and you can’t tax middle-class folks who are unemployed; the middle class would be devastated as the economy would slow or come to a halt.
Warren’s other largesse includes free child care, free college tuition and college loan forgiveness. None of us are against a “hand up,” but Warren is proposing a “hand out.” Like most progressives she ignores the root cause of those issues, instead wrapping relief in colorful holiday packages with big bows.
One supporter of Warren in a letter recently lamented how hard it was to have children and then provide day care for them, although it was easier now that her husband has a better job. My suggestion is wait to have children until you can afford them.
June and Tim Frazer opined in the Sunday Monitor that Warren should moderate her message to get elected. Then what? We get saddled with Medicare for All anyway? Americans deserve more honesty, not playbook tactics.
If Warren is elected I guess we could start impeachment hearings and work against her from day one. Sound familiar?
