■Allenstown’s Winter Parking Ban will be in effect now to April 15. The ban allows ticketing and possible towing of vehicles parked on public streets after midnight until 6 a.m. Please work together as a community this season, so that our highway crews can focus on clearing the streets to make our travels safer.

■Christmas in the Village is held today from 1 to 4 p.m. sponsored by the Pembroke Women’s Club. There will be entertainment, pony rides, hay ride, food and crafts. Santa will be at the Masonic Hall.

■Bone Builders is held on Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■Bingo is held on Monday and Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■Marlena Phillips will entertain with music and singing on Tuesday at 11 a.m. to help celebrate Birthdays in Dec.

■Gentle Chair Yoga is held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. Classes are $5 each.

■Pastel Art Class is held on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. The cost is $7.50 per class or $45. for a six-week session.

■Cribbage Club is held on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■Holiday Dinner will be held on Thursday with the drawing for quilt raffle right at noon. After lunch we will have Yankee Swap. Please bring a gift under $5 to exchange. Don’t forget to sign up for this wonderful tradition.

CHICHESTER Seasonal puppet show

■The Down Cellar Poets will meet Sunday at 1 p.m. at the library. Also at the library, the Mahjong group meets Monday at 2:30 p.m. The Conservation Commission meets Monday at 7 p.m. The Library Trustees meet Monday at 4 p.m. Storytime for pre-schoolers will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with story, craft and snack. Toddler time is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with story and fun.

■The library is sponsoring the Pontine Theater presentation of “A Winter’s Tale.” It will be held at the Grange Hall at 7 p.m. Free parking and light refreshments will be served. This is a wonderful tale for Christmas time-recommended for ages 10 and up.

■The Historical Society will meet Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.

■On Tuesday and Wednesday, on-going town budget hearings will continue with departments that are requested to be seen. The public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4.

■The Chichester Methodist Church will host the last Community Supper for 2019 on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Meatloaf is on the menu.

■Parks and Recreation will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.

■The B.C.E.P. will hold a public hearing for citizens to make comments on the proposed budget for the B.C.E.P solid waste district Thursday at 5 p.m. at the facility.

■The library is the place to be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. There will be an “interactive” presentation of the holiday movie “Elf.” After the movie, there will be some interesting decorating of cupcakes.

■The Chichester Police Department and the Chichester Police Association are taking applications for Secret Santa. If you know of a needy family or child or senior citizen that could use a little assistance, call the Police Department at 798-4911. Closing day for applications is Dec. 18, 2019. Monetary donations gratefully accepted; make checks out to the Chichester Police Association and mail to 22 Main St., Chichester, 03258. There are openings for “elves” to shop and wrap gifts.

EPSOM Toy, clothing drive

■Epsom PTO will meet on Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the library. Mini Course Forms and money due by the Dec. 14.

■The Epsom Police Association will be holding their 2nd annual Holiday Toy and Clothing Drive on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Epsom Police Station. With the donations received last year, we were able to provide not only toys to children in town, but also food and clothing items to families in need.

■Children’s Store will be open Saturday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 112 and held at the American Legion Post 112. Children (16 and younger) can buy gifts for family members (parents, siblings, etc.) for Christmas that will be gift wrapped. There will be a bake sale and pictures with Santa Claus.

■Victory Workers 4-H Club will meet on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

■The Planning and Land Use committee will meet on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Offices. Agenda is online at epsomnhorg/planning-board.

■The Epsom Boy Scouts are proud to present the 3rd annual Epsom Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday at Webster Park. Kids get your lists ready and parents bring your cameras! Santa will once again be arriving by firetruck at 3:30 p.m. to visit us and the tree will be lit at approximately 4:15 to 4:30 p.m. Again this year, there will also be a toy collection box for you to drop off new, unwrapped toys that will be brought to the Epsom Police Department and included in their toy drive. This event is free and open to everyone

■At the library, Mahjong will be Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., cribbage Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., chess Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and  Bone Builders on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. Knitters Club will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. 

■The movie matinee on Wednesday at 1:30  p.m. will be Disney’s ever-popular “The Lion King.” The story journeys to the African savanna, where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny.

■Christmas is in the Village today from 1 to 4 p.m. sponsored by the Pembroke Woman’s Club.

■Pembroke Town Library has an ongoing used book sale open during operating hours. There are books of many genres for all ages. Hardcover books, DVD’s and audios are $1. We’ll have some gently-used books ideal for gift giving. Come in and check it out! 

■Knit & Crochet Group meets every Saturday at 11 a.m. at the library. Meet new friends and chat over a cup of coffee or tea.  Craft something for charity or for yourself. The current charity project is making hats and mittens for children at the Pembroke Hill School.

■Story Time for ages 15 months to 5 years old is every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the library. Mah Jongg is played every Wednesday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 485-7851.

■The Pittsfield Players will hold auditions for their 2020 Kid’s Theater Workshop production of “Getting to Know State Fair” at the Scenic Theater on Dec. 16 and 17 at 4 p.m. Those auditioning will be taught a song from the show and asked to sing in a group and, if they wish, as a solo. ■Kylee Strong toy drive will be Tuesdat at 5:30 p.m. at the PMHS Gym. Come watch the varsity girls battle Hinsdale and then see Santa. Bring your unwrapped gift (for newborn to teen) to support Kylee’s toy drive. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures!

■The Victory Workers 4-H Club meeting is rescheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center.
