Division: I
Coach: Patrick McDonough (3rd year)
Last year: 14-6-0 (reached semifinals)
Top returners: Nicole Jones, sr., F, co-captain; Erin Doherty, sr., F, co-captain; Lily Branch, sr., D; Ella Doherty, sr., F; Abigail Corbett, sr., G; Joanna Dustin, jr., F; Jaelyn Kelleher, jr., F; Maria Armaganian, jr., D; Libby Brown, soph., F; Kaitlyn McKinnon, soph., F; Amy Cohen, soph., F; Isabelle Sawyer, soph., F
Top newcomers: Anna Tardiff, fr., D; Leah Beauregard, fr., F; Katherine Ripel, fr., D; Sophia Branch, fr., D; Emma LaRiviere, fr., D; Greta Norton, fr., D; Alyssa Leppard, fr., D
Outlook: With 12 players returning with varsity experience and an incoming class of seven capable freshmen, depth will the strength for this Crimson Tide team. Five of those freshmen play defense, but they will have a senior netminder behind them in Corbett who can help organize. “I think we’ll see more parity in the league this year,” McDonough said. “There’s always a few more teams that pop up as contenders down the stretch. We hope to return to playoffs and go on a significant run, but we know it won’t come if we don’t do it together.”
Teams to beat: Bishop Guertin, Exeter, Hanover, Pinkerton
Brady-Trinity-West
Division: I
Coach: Dan Earley (9th year)
Last year: 12-8-0 (reached quarterfinals)
Returning starters: Emily Senko, jr., G; Raelynn Roberts, sr., D, captain; Courtney Ingham, soph., F; Evelynn Irizarry, soph., F
Outlook: The team doesn’t have a lot of depth (12 skaters and one goalie), but it does have a versatile roster with girls who are capable of playing multiple positions, a good core of returning talent and some promising newcomers. Senko is a three-year starter in goal and coming off a great soccer season where she was the goalie for Brady’s D-III runner up team. Roberts is a three-year captain for Brady-Trinity-West and will anchor the defensive core. Ingham and Irizarry are the leading goal scorers who return from last year’s team. “We have no allowance for injuries or the flu, but I like the way we’ve been practicing and I think we’ll be competitive,” Earley said.
Teams to beat: Hanover, Oyster River-Portsmouth, St. Thomas, Concord, Exeter
