The Division II Bow High indoor track and field team opened the season in a meet on Saturday at Phillips Exeter Academy, with the girls’ team finishing fourth and the boys’ team finishing seventh out of nine teams, a field that included several Division I schools.

Kristina Pizzi won the 600-meter race in 1:43.7 to lead the girls’, while Maya Brochu (third 3,000), Emily Kiah (fourth 300), Sage Konstantakos (fourth long jump), Susanna Zahn (fifth 1,000) and Delia Brochu (fifth 3,000) also scored individually.

The 4×400 relay of Katelin Howe, Kiah, Gracie Bresson and Pizzi finished fourth and the 4×200 of Amy Eweka, Konstantakos, Emma Van Ham and Kelly Harris finished fifth.

Phillips Exeter Academy won the meet with 84 points, but the Falcons were in the hunt for second place with not many points separating D-I Merrimack (37), D-I Dover (32.5), and Bow (30).

Portsmouth Christian (28), Salem (28), Pelham (25.5), ConVal (14) and Epping (12) rounded out the team scores.

On the boys’ side, the six-man Falcons had points from Colin Lessard (third 3,00), Gabe Neff (fourth 600), Adem Aricanli (fourth 1,000) and the fifth-place 4×400 of Zach Anderson, Lessard, Aricanli and Neff.

Host Phillips Exeter won with 79 points, followed by Merrimack (63), Salem (43), Pelham (34), Dover (30), ConVal (17), Bow (14), Portsmouth Christian (11) and Epping (no score).
