I listened to the Democrats defending two articles of impeachment against President Trump. The self-righteousness of these Democrats is something to behold. Amazing to hear them defend the indefensible.
This is about the phone conversation President Trump had offering congratulations to the newly elected president of Ukraine and his decisive win campaigning against the corruption in his country. Our Congress had passed legislation promising to send $400 million worth of anti-tank missile armaments to Ukraine to be used in the war with Russia. President Trump meant to assure himself that before this aid was delivered, it was guaranteed to be used for what American taxpayers intended. I believe that was what any president should want to do. There was no quid pro quo.
The conversation included a request to President Zelensky to help us get to the bottom of the interference by Ukraine in the 2016 American presidential election. Democrats construe that to mean Trump was withholding aid for that information. The aid was delivered.
“Article II, Section 4: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
Read the words that describe what needs to be met to impeach in the Constitution. Democrats have not met that level, yet they persist. They have lost touch with reality and the American people.
