Americans must have no fear of what they might hear during the impeachment trial. We must tell Republicans and Democrats to set aside their childish spats, and that we are fed up with them acting like royalty, only to our Constitution must they pledge and practice their loyalty.
Contact your elected representatives and tell them the whole truth must be heard; and we trust each party to call any four people they believe best bear witness as to the president of the United States’ fitness to remain in office. Whether they call the Bidens or the president’s closest advisers and cabinet members, we just want to hear the truth about this whole affair. And in the end, no one must glower or pout whether or not the president is tossed out, for if America is to more than just survive, the truth must always be free to thrive.
Finally, with regard to concern that this process might impede future presidents to receive advice, think about the many past back-room decisions that led us to Vietnam, Iran-Contra, and recently false promises and claims of the Afghanistan and Iraqi wars. In the last 60 years we have spent many trillion dollars on wars and foreign policy follies that we now learn could have been avoided.
Many citizens serve in the military and would sacrifice their lives to protect our great nation. It’s time our representatives, including the president, willingly sacrifice their political lives if needed to protect our democracy.
