There’s two weeks left in the regular season and the Merrimack Valley girls’ basketball team is peaking at the right time.
The Pride (10-7) took advantage of its senior night – its final game of the season on its home floor in Penacook – securing its fourth straight victory with a 48-32 victory over Kingswood (1-13).
MV jumped out to a 22-8 halftime lead and didn’t look back.
Aislinn McDonald (14 points), Jadyn Holmes (eight points) and Hayley Kenney (eight points) led the scoring for the Pride, which is on its longest winning streak of the season.
“I was very proud of the way our team came out and supported each other – especially our seniors,” MV head coach Bob McNutt said. “We had an opportunity to get a lot of players minutes and it was nice to see them all play well and contribute … Our team is playing well but we need to really get after it in practice the next two weeks and get prepared for the road ahead.”
That road ahead includes the regular-season finale on Feb. 25 at John Stark (10-4) and a likely road game in the first round of the Division II postseason tournament in the first week of March.
