A Loudon woman who got lost foraging for acorns for her goats was found unhurt Thursday night by New Hampshire fish and Game conservation officers.
According to Fish and Game, Emily Cummings, 31, of Loudon had left her residence on Oak Hill Road to forage for acorns around 5:30 p.m. Loudon Police was notified around 11:00 p.m. that she had not returned.
According to reports, her parents said they had received a call from Emily around 7:30 p.m. stating she was lost. Emily’s father told her to send a screen shot of her location on her cell phone and to stay put. Conservation Officers were able to get coordinates off the phone and went to that location approximately one mile from her residence.
Cummings was found not far away, given warm clothes and fluids and was escorted out by Loudon Fire Departments Rescue at around 3:30 a.m. She was treated at an awaiting ambulance and refused medical treatment.
“New Hampshire Fish and Game want to remind the public no matter how short of a trip you may be taking into the woods always bring simple necessities such as a light, compass and proper clothing,” the report said.
Fish and Game was assisted by Loudon Fire and Rescue, Loudon Police Department, Canterbury Police Department, Merrimack County Sheriffs and Concord Fire Department.
