BOW Car show postponed

■The Bow Rotary Annual Car Show has been postponed until Aug. 22. Anyone who pre-registered may choose a refund if they are unable to attend on Aug. 22. Updated registration forms and additional information are now available at bowrotary.org.

■The Bow Rotary Summer Concert Series has also been postponed. The Rotary Club hopes to be able to reschedule it for later this summer, providing it becomes safe to do so.

■The Bow Garden Club membership meeting and annual Memorial Day Weekend Plant Sale have been canceled.

DUNBARTON Transfer station opens

■Town offices are still closed to walk-in business until further notice. Check dunbartonnh.org for updates and for information on permits and licenses.

■The Transfer Station Recycling Center will be reopening on Tuesday with restrictions. Cardboard, aluminum cans, glass bottles and jars, and tin and steel cans will be accepted. Other items are expected to be added in the future. Residents will have to sort and dump their own material. It will be well marked. Please note that only one car/person may dump at a time. Social distancing will be in effect until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation.

■In May, the DCC Book Club will read The First Call You Get from Heaven by Mitch Albom. Discussion hosted by Stephanie Herlihy will be June 4 at 7 p.m. either on Zoom or at the Vestry.

■Library events for adults: For a limited time, AncestryLibrary Edition is available from home. Log in to your account with your card number and PIN. Email the library to see if it is still available. The Book Discussion group is scheduled to read Whatcha Reading? and has an online chat scheduled for May 20 at noon. Virtual Friday Men’s Coffee will be held at 9 a.m. on Zoom or in-person. Please email the library at dunlib@gsinet.net for the Zoom ID, password and date confirmation if you are interested.

■Library events for kids: Story Time for Toddlers is being held online. Watch the library’s videos or join via Zoom on your computer, laptop or smartphone on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. If you would like to attend online email dunlib@gsinet.net.

■For the wellness of Dunbarton Police staff, officers have been wearing face masks and other personal protective equipment while responding to calls for service and interacting with the public. Please help them achieve social distancing measures when interacting with them. HENNIKER / WEARE Chili fest canceled

■The Henniker Rotary Annual Fire on the Mountain Chili Fest, originally scheduled for Aug. 16 has been canceled for 2020.

■Weare/Henniker Youth Theatre had planned on doing five Summer Musical Theatre Camps to celebrate 20 years of doing youth theatre in rural New Hampshire. Instead, the organization will celebrate its 21st year in 2021. Camper deposits will be returned.

■Congrats to Jennifer L. Savoy from Weare who has been awarded the Janice H. McElroy Rotary Scholarship. Jennifer will be seeking her Masters of Divinity at Boston University School of Theology.

■“Weare in the World” newspaper is publishing on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month and can be viewed on the library website at wearepl.wordpress.com. Printed copies will resume after the library reopens.
