BOWDonate to plants

■In lieu Spring Plant Sale that was canceled due to the pandemic, the Bow Garden Club is holding a Plant-Less Sale asking plant sale patrons to instead consider making a donation. The club’s spring sale is one of its primary fundraisers to cover the cost of purchasing the plantings around town. Donations may be made by check payable to Bow Garden Club with “plant sale” noted in the memo. Mail checks to Sharon Pearce, 17 Woodhill Road, Bow, NH 03304. All donations are tax deductible and their receipt will be acknowledged. Please visit bowgardenclub.org or contact Joyce Kimball, BGC Fundraising Chairman at joyceakimball@comcast.net or 229-1990 for any additional information. Thank you!

■The Bow Rotary Annual Car Show, previously scheduled for May 16, has been postponed until Aug. 22. Anyone who pre-registered may choose a refund if they are unable to attend on the new date. Updated registration forms and additional information are now available at bowrotary.org.

■The Bow Rotary Summer Concert Series has been postponed. The Rotary Club hopes to be able to reschedule it for later this summer, providing it becomes safe to do so.

DUNBARTONRecycle paper

■The Transfer Station will be accepting mixed paper: cereal boxes, soda boxes, beer boxes, paper towel tubes, junk mail, newspaper and more. Have your recyclables sorted prior to your arrival. This will keep the traffic flowing to try and prevent backups.

■Town offices are still closed to walk-in business until further notice. Check dunbartonnh.org for updates and to download permits and licenses. Property tax payments can now be made online as well. Visit dunbartonnh.org.

■In June, the DCC Book Club will read “Here If You Need Me” by Kate Braestrup. Discussion will be held on July 2 at 7 p.m., either on Zoom or at the Vestry.

■The library’s Summer Reading Program will be very different this year. The program will be modified to be mostly virtual to keep the community safe. Participants will use a virtual reading program tool called READsquared that was acquired for New Hampshire libraries to use for the next two summers. A tentative schedule of events is available at dunbartonlibrary.org/srp-programs.html.

■The library is hard at work on a phased approach to reopening. Starting Wednesday,  a no-contact curbside pickup service will be launched for patrons to borrow books and other items. This service will be by appointment only and phased in gradually, starting with items that are currently in the building. Online meditations resume on Thursday. Join Judy Caron of Living Mindfully, NH for a peaceful, guided meditation. Email dunlib@gsinet.net if you are interested in attending.

■Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all of the Dunbarton Police’s community events have been canceled or postponed. They have started the process of rescheduling some of the events and will post new dates and information on dunbartonpolice.weebly.com.
